A saga begins.....,

Hello 2009! I have now been living in Freiburg, Germany, for a few months now, and I have disappointingly not started blogging until now, but as a New Year's Resolution, I have decided to begin now. (And, besides, the hardest step is always the first, so now that I've started it will be a bit easier.)

I'll probably try to fill in more details of my previous adventuring, but first let me do a small introduction:
I am now almost half-way through my study abroad experience that began in September, living and working in Freiburg, Germany (about half-way between Strasbourg (France) and Basel (Switzerland). Since I have arrived, I have

• moved in and befriended my 5 roommates,
• took a three-week intensive language course to improve my German,
• attended Oktoberfest in Munich for 5 days (and drank copious amounts of beer),
• took a few courses in German Culture, History, Film, and Media (all lectured in German),
  
• enrolled in a math course at Universität Freiburg,
• done plenty of studying,
• gone on a few other small trips, and
  
• celebrated Christmas and New Year's in Amsterdam
